Kinlee is the Security First Bank’s Student of the Month. Each month the teachers nominate a student that meets certain criteria. Some criteria includes attendance, academic excellence, strong positive character and leadership skills. Kinlee was nominated by Ms. Keffeler who teaches Science. Ms. Keffeler stated the following: “Kinlee is a very polite and respectful young lady. She is always on time for class, and is ready and willing to learn. Along with being on time, she achieves at a very high level academically. I can tell that Kinlee sets high goals for herself and works hard to reach them. Kinlee is one of those people that always comes to class with a smile on her face!!“

Reason for Nomination:
I want to nominate Katie for student of the month because I feel she meets many of the criteria for this award. I had Katie in Biology II last year and have her in Anatomy & Physiology this year, during this time she has shown great achievement in her school work. She works very hard academically and this hard work is reflected by her grades. Katie is very punctual and is always prepared for her class. From what I have seen inside and outside of school she is also very polite and respectful to both her peers and her elders. Katie also takes part in many extracurricular activities. When Katie sets her mind to something she wants to do, she works very hard to get it done. This can be shown by her performance in the classroom. She has also worked very hard to recover from knee surgery so she can compete in sports again this year. During the time that she has not been able to play Katie still attends all of the games and is very supportive of her teammates. Last Katie has chosen a great career to enter into after high school. She is determined to become a nurse, and has also started taking steps to reach this goal. Katie has taken higher level math and science classes in high school which is helping her better prepare for college. She has also started working at the nursing home in Hay Springs.
