Summer Sports Camps

Volleyball Camp

The volleyball camp was held July 9th-12th at Doane college in Crete, NE. The participants in the camp were allowed to stay in the campus dorms. One of our Lady Hawks told us that they had a lot of fun and played every day! The 9th was a day for practicing their hitting while the 10th was a day dedicated to passing. The 11th-12th were both team days. They placed second overall.

Girls Basketball Camp

On July 21st, the Lady Hawks basketball team went to Hastings for camp. In just one day, they fit in six games and got into the winner’s bracket by placing third.

Boys B-Ball

During a weekend in June the Hay Springs boys basketball team went to Rapid City, SD, for a basketball camp. They played 3 games to see what seed they would be in. They lost 2 of the 3 games. Only eight players went to the camp and they were Jake, J.W., Wacey, Lars, Travis, Trenton, Isaac and Paul. The players stayed in the dorms at the School of Mines.

Football

For 4 days this summer there was a football camp at CSC. The first day was a team day practice. The second and third day they did individual things and a team scrimmage. The fourth day they scrimmaged 3 teams.

Jordyn H. led the Hawks in setting with 8 set assists for kills she also finished with 2 ace serves. In the third place game the Lady Hawks took on the Bridgeport Lady Bulldogs.
