The Hay Springs Hawks wrestlers found some tough competition at the Mullen Invite on Saturday with neither wrestler placing. Clint B. wrestling at 125 lbs. lost by decision to Taylor D. of Garden County. He then won by fall in 1:52 over John S. of Hershey, and then lost by fall in :59 seconds to Sam Z. of Mullen. Daniel G. wrestling at 160 lbs. lost by fall in :37 seconds to Zach C. of Mullen and then lost by fall in 3:44 to Lucas S, of Plainview. "Mullen was a tough tournament for us," said Coach Allen Mintzmeyer. "Some of the improvements we had seemed to have been making were set back for us this tournament. We still saw some promising wrestling, though. This was a good, tough tournament for us to get ready for districts in three weeks at Sutherland. The Mullen Invite had many district teams that we haven't seen yet this season."
