Diana Ellis
Diana Ellis has taught in Hay Springs over 15 years. She is a graduate of Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas with a degree in Elementary Education with specialization in English. She has hours from Western State College/Gunnison, CO, MSU/Bozeman,MT, University of CO/Boulder, University of Wyoming/Laramie, Wayland Baptist College/Plainview, TX, CSU/Ft. Collins, and CSC/Chadron. She is trained in Reading Recovery and specializes in K-3 reading. She had varied interests in the areas of sports, music, travel and gardening. She plays the piano and is in choir at her church. She and her husband, Butch(who she thinks is a wonderful man!), live outside of Chadron. They are Host Parents for CSC and over a 15 year period have accumulated many children from around Nebraska and all over the world. "It has been especially exciting for several years to host a foreign CSC basketball player. I raise a garden most every year and this year I canned and froze blackeyed peas to satisfy my "Southern tongue. I've traveled all over Europe and to Brazil and the Caribbean. A highlight of my travels was the opportunity to travel with the CSC choir and perform in numerous places in England. The "loves of my life" are my grandchildren Amanda, Colby, and Trista who live in Chadron and Kenzie and Stone who live in Denver...and the feeling is reciprocal. It is nice to have someone who thinks you're wonderful and they fulfill that space... I read, raise roses, play the piano and go to movies for relaxation. Ask some of my students my favorite color and they will give you a resounding PURPLE with blue and pink a close second.
